What is iRest® Yoga Nidra?

iRest® Yoga Nidra is a form of meditative self-inquiry that supports the integration of all aspects of ourselves and the restoration of well-being. Based on traditional yoga practices, iRest is a culturally sensitive, secular, and research-based transformative practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry. It is used in VA hospitals, military bases, hospitals and clinics, hospice, homeless shelters, community programs, and schools. Research has shown iRest to effectively reduce symptoms associated with PTSD, depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, and chemical dependency while increasing health, resiliency, and well-being.

Yoga nidra is suitable for everyone. No yoga experience is necessary.
Yoga nidra is not psychotherapy.

What happens in a session?

In a Group Practice, after taking a comfortable position (reclining, seated, even standing - whatever seems right for you!), Amy will guide you through a mindfulness meditation that is deeply relaxing and restoring. Each hour-long practice begins with a brief orientation and check-in and ends with a short integration period.

A private session is tailored to meet your needs. Amy will customize a yoga nidra practice for you, or you may choose to do co-meditation (dyad).

What should I bring/wear?

While yoga nidra does not require special clothing, you might like to wear loose and comforatble clothing that supports relaxation. Bolsters and blankets are available. You are welcome to bring additional items to support your comfort.

iRest at Your Location!

Amy is available to lead iRest Yoga Nidra for your group at your location as a one-time special offering, a workshop series, or on a regular basis. - school, support group, center, yoga studio - anywhere that supports relaxation, healing, and well-being. Amy will work with you to create the perfect approach and practice for your group.


  • Drop-in Class: $10 / $7 (students)
  • 5 Class Card: $40 / $28 (students)
  • 10 Class Card: $75 / $65 (students)
  • Private sessions: $50

Private one-on-one sessions are scheduled for one hour. Longer sessions are available upon request and for small groups.

Amy offers a sliding scale payment options to help make practices for well-being accessible to everyone. Please do not hestitate to ask about a sliding scale paymnet option.
