What is iRest® Yoga Nidra?

iRest® Yoga Nidra is a form of meditative self-inquiry that supports the integration of all aspects of ourselves and the restoration of well-being. Based on traditional yoga practices, iRest is a culturally sensitive, secular, and research-based transformative practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry. It is used in VA hospitals, military bases, hospitals and clinics, hospice, homeless shelters, community programs, and schools. Research has shown iRest to effectively reduce symptoms associated with PTSD, depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, and chemical dependency while increasing health, resiliency, and well-being.

Yoga nidra is suitable for everyone. No yoga experience is necessary.
Yoga nidra is not psychotherapy.

What happens in a session?

In a Group Practice, after taking a comfortable position (reclining, seated, even standing - whatever seems right for you!), you are guided through a mindfulness meditation that is deeply relaxing and restoring.

A private session is tailored to meet your needs.

What should I bring/wear?

While yoga nidra does not require special clothing, you might like to wear loose and comforatble clothing that supports comfort and relaxation. Bolsters, blankets, pilows, and other items are used used to supposrt comfort during a practice.
